As of 1 January 2019, a new team will be in charge of running the Versailles Palais des Congrès. The team aspires to modernise and diversify the activities of the Versailles Palais des Congrès, which is a unique and prestigious venue that forms part of the heritage of Versailles.
A new lease of life
The new team is made up of event producers with over 25 years of experience. Their complementary talents have been put to good use to serve third parties (companies and institutions) through proprietary events.
Versailles Palais des Congrès & Événements offers a range of spaces perfectly suited to conferences, seminars, conventions, trade fairs and cultural events
This extensive capacity, which can accommodate up to 1,200 people, will be combined with a new range of services from 2019.
The business policy will be readjusted to serve the Ile-de-France market, blend economic performance and quality of service.
Lastly, events for the general public will be held so that this place is again a cultural centre the inhabitants of “Grand Versailles” enjoy going to.
A site with a strong heritage value
This site was the home of the first Palais des Congrès (convention centre) in France. The 1967 building perfectly blends into the urban and architectural composition inherited from the 17th century, at the vertex of the famous “Trident” street plan. The architect Pierre-Édouard Lambert took his cues from classical tradition, which can be seen in the proportions of the building, the rhythm of elevations, and the harmony of bays and pilasters. Inside, the building is resolutely post-war modern, and boasts high-quality polychrome concrete skins. Following in the footsteps of Auguste Perret’s architecture, Pierre-Édouard Lambert took particular care with the plan of this rationalist construction, centred on its rotunda auditorium and following strong radiating axes. Versailles Palais des Événements & Congrès has a clear heritage value linked to the consistency of its authentic architectural features.
